Cover of Bae’s photo essay “A Journey in Search of Korea’s Beauty” [KEYEASY]
The English version of top Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon’s photo essay “A Journey in Search of Korea’s Beauty” will go on sale next month, according to his agency KEYEAST on Tuesday.
“A Journey in Search of Korea’s Beauty” will be published in English, going on sale in the United States in late December and then in Europe, starting with Germany, in January.
“We received numerous inquiries regarding the publication of the book in English after the book was released in Korea last year. The book will guide foreigners on the past and current traditions of Korea”, an official from publication house Hollym Corp., Publishers was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the publication of “A Journey in Search of Korea’s Beauty”, will be announced at a bazaar event held today by the Seoul International Women’s Association.
The book, containing photographs of various cultural artisans and introductions to Korean culture and travel locations, was first released in September last year and has been printed in Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese.
It has also been made into a television documentary showing Bae’s travels through a video featuring the photographs and writings from the photo essay.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Yoon Ko Eun = Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon will take “family pictures” with his fans.
On the 26th, Bae Yong Joon’s agent, Keyeast stated, “Bae Yong Joon has been showing his special love towards his fans for a long time and has decided to take family pictures with his fans. This project will start in Korea and Japan and later expand to all of Asia.”
This project will be proceeding under the name of “Family Photo Project – We Are a Family”, and the application will be accepted on a first come first serve basis through Bae Yong Joon’s home page in each country.
They plan to accept applications from the 26th to 30th in Korea and after the middle of next month in Japan.
Keyeast said, “We will disclose the selecting numbers later. First, we will decide the numbers of families in each country we are willing to take, and Bae Yong Joon will take pictures several times after the families are categorize by sizes for their “FamilyPictures”.
Bae Yong Joon said through his agent, “I would like to have a family picture which each family should have. I want to do it because we are a family. I have dreamed about it only in my mind. I’m going to make an album withfamily pictures which contain the faces of families. An album I will cherish forever.”
Keyeast said, “It, a long project, will start from Korea and will be created with many Asian Families. We will try to make it project where they can connect and communicate with Bae Yong Joon on a personal level.”
On the other hand, Bae Yong Joon will attend the charity event, “Smile Project – Message to Asia”, which will be held at Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 14th of next month with Kim Hyun Joong and Hwan Hee.

Bae Yong Joon’s book, ‘The Journey to Discover the Beauty of Korea’, will be released in an additional three counties.
In the middle of last year, he released the book, ‘The Journey to Discover the Beauty of Korea’, in Korea and Japan at the same time to introduce the traditional culture of Korea. After that, he got offers from overseas publishing companies and decided to release his book in USA, China and Taiwan recently.
He already made contracts with the local publishing companies. Including these deals, his book is translated into four languages and it’ll be an opportunity for his fans to read his book. A staff of Keyeast, BYJ’s management company, said, “We closely cooperate with the publishing companies in each country to release the book within this year. We expect high sales because BYJ is widely known in USA, China, and Taiwan through his movies and dramas.”
It’s known that BYJ had sales close to five billion won including its related tourism products with its continuous sales. So far, a total of 130,000 copies were sold in Korea and Japan, 65,000 copies in each country. The price of the book in Korea is 18,000 won, so the sales amount would be about 1.2 billion won. The total sales amount in Japan is over 2.4 billion won because its price in Japan is 2,835 yen (about 37,100 won) each book. The total sales amount of the book in both countries is over 3.6 billion won.
A company, Key To Korea related to Keyeast has brought four tourism products based on the famous places which appeared in his book for Japanese tourists. A 3 day-2 night tourism product, which has begun in early November last year, is sold out. The sales amount of the tourism products is about one billion won, so the total sales amount will easily be over five billion won. He added, “BYJ stresses the fact that his translated book could be of help even in introducing Korea.”

Bae Yong Joon returns to TV after 3 years since “TWSSG”.
Bae Yong Joon will produce and act in the Mon-Tue Mini Series “Dream High” which will air on KBS 2TV starting January of next year. The production team of “Dream High” stated, “Bae Yong Joon will participate in the filming which starts at the end of this month. He will be appearing as a guest star from 1st episode to 4th episode.”
“Dream High” is about the students of Kirin Art School who dream of becoming a worldwide star. Bae Yong Joon will be appearing as Jeong Ha Myung, the chairman of the board of Kirin Art School, who could recognize, at the glance of an eye, the outstanding individual who has the ability to become a top star. He will change the way of selecting students to audition.
Bae Yong Joon will also be a drama producer by making the production company of “Dream High”, Holim through his agent, Keyeast. Kim Soo Hyun, Ok Taec Yeong, and Bae Suzy, who are the main cast members of “Dream High”, are similar to the characters of the drama who dream of being a worldwide star and singer.
