The first episode of KBS’s newest drama ‘Dream High’ was finally aired last night and recorded a quite solid rating with 10,7%. That number put the drama in third spot after SBS’s spy-action ‘Athena: Goddess of War’ which noted a 16.3% rating and MBC’s romantic-comedy drama ‘Queen of Reversals’ with a 14.2% rating.
However, just in its premiere, the drama has accepted various responses from the audiences, notably for its idol cast line-up that half of them don’t have prior acting experience. And looks like most of audiences were disappointed with their poor acting skills and criticized for just using their singing popularity.
As for me, the drama not completely bad, but not really all that good, either. So, I think I’ll keep watching since it’s just only the beginning and I hope there would be a great advance for the plot. Aand of course, I’m still waiting for some Kim Soo Hyun since he was only glimpse in this episode!
It’s been revealed that at tonight’s episode of ‘Dream High’, Taecyeon and Ham Eun Jung will make an impressive duet performance for their school’s showcase. Taecyeon’s awesome rapping and dancing mixed with Eun Jung’s sexy dancing and singing are said to be one of the best scene for the drama.
Since this spoiler has been circulating, it has drawn much curiosity of fans about how could Jin Guk (Taecyeon’s role) perform at the showcase since he isn’t originally supposed to be allowed to, as he’s currently still considered entrance class. Plus, why his first performance must be with Baek Hee (Eun Jung’s role) and not Hye Mi (Suzy’s role).
The answers will be revealed in the 7th episode of ‘Dream High’. So, don’t miss it!

Korean actor Bae Yong-joon’s book “A Journey in Search of Korea’s Beauty” has been nominated as one of the best literary works of 2010 by China News, one of the largest newspapers in China.
Each year the paper selects the best books in the categories of culture, social science, history, business, and arts and lifestyle. Each judge on the panel consisting of industry experts and publishers chooses three books out of 10 nominees in each category before the final five books of the year are selected.
The Chinese version of Bae’s photo essay, which was published there last September, was nominated in the lifestyle category and is the first Korean publication to make it onto the list in seven years. This year’s list of nominees also includes Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami’s bestseller “IQ84″.
The Korean edition of Bae’s book became an instant bestseller and went into a 13th impression just a month after its launch in September 2009. The book has also been published in Japanese and Taiwanese, and in English last month.

Bae Yong-joon in hospital with ruptured neck disc
Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon has belatedly found to have been in the hospital since last
week due to a ruptured disc in his neck, according to his agency on Thursday.
“It is true Bae has been hospitalized… He is currently in the hospital due to a neck disc
herniation,” confirmed an official at the actor’s agency KEYAST of which Bae is the
largest major shareholder.
Bae had first developed the condition after falling from a horse while filming 2007
historical epic “Four Gods,” leaving him with an injured neck and shoulders for which he
received surgery after the show wrapped up.
Then last Tuesday, he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, the condition said to
have worsened acutely from the cold weather and overworking himself.
The 38-year-old star had recently been appearing in KBS mini-series “Dream High,” his
first small screen appearance in three years, as well as acting as the show’s creative
producer.
“Dream High,” a co-production between Korea’s top entertainment firms KEYEAST and
JYP Entertainment, tells about the dreams of students who attend a performing arts
school with the storyline set to be relayed through song and dance.
Bae had made special appearances in the show, playing the role of Jung Ha-myung, the
director of the performing arts school who has the ability to create stars out of his
students.
An official with “Dream High” explained that Bae’s illness will not affect the show since
he has finished shooting all of his scenes except for one in episode four which went on air
yesterday.
Bae rose to mega-stardom in Korea and throughout Asia with the 2002 hit KBS TV series
“Winter Sonata” co-starring actress Choi Ji-woo.
He has been actively promoting Korean culture in Asia as well through various efforts
including running a Korean restaurant in Japan and publishing a photo essay titled
“Discovering the Beauty of Korea” last year that has been sold in multiple languages as
well as being made into a television documentary.
He has also made numerous donations to various organizations in Asia including 300
million won to the tsunami victims in 2005 as well as handing funds raised from an
environment-themed photo spread to a UNEP committee.
